In a nutshell

Bâton Rouge Paris is a boutique cosmetics “lab” specialising in 100% tailor-made, eco-responsible lipsticks, created on-site in a personalised co-creation experience

In their words

"Bâton Rouge is the cosmetics of tomorrow, combining the excellence of French know-how with innovation.

With you, we manufacture your 100% tailor-made and eco-responsible lipstick in our Parisian boutique, for the price of €50.

Whether it’s the choice of color, texture or scent, anything goes!"

Brand Background

The Bâton Rouge concept began in 2017 when founder Christelle Percheron, a chemist, encountered bespoke lipstick-making in Australia and couldn’t find a comparable service in France. After four years of research and overcoming regulatory hurdles, she launched Bâton Rouge in 2021. The boutique combines professional lab expertise, Parisian style, and traditional artisanal processes, using high-quality, natural ingredients. It has garnered innovation awards (Paris Shop & Design, Label Fabriqué à Paris for local production) and is recognised for its pioneering, “made-to-order” approach and commitment to sustainability

The store is an intimate, glossy store that has a 'nail bar' feeling (due to the one-on-one service and consultation areas) mixed with a 'lab' feeling (with colours mixed behind glass-paned dividers).

Small and friendly, the store's expert staff also run private events for groups of friends to experience custom lipstick sessions.

The "Creation Counters" where styling, listening, advice and experimentation happen.

The layout and decor create a 'professional yet cosy' atmosphere, balancing the sterility of a lab with the friendly welcome of a beauty salon.

Online reviews consistently praise the staff knowledge, proficiency and expertise and it's clear from the first interaction that the staff are central to the brand experience.
