Teufel Lautsprecher (https://teufel.de/) is a high-end audio company, founded in Berlin in 1979. Initially the focus was upon loudspeaker kits, but the company moved to manufacturing consumer speakers and their history of product innovation continued apace. They were early pioneers of multi-room, bluetooth and surround-sound speakers, and opened their web store in 1997.
In 2006 Teufel became Europe’s largest D2C audio distributor and its current retail mix includes their flagship at Bikini Berlin, high-end store-in-stores at KaDeWe and of course their online offering that extends beyond the DACH region.
In our discussion Kim will kick off by sharing with us the path to growth for this D2C brand, and how it connects with the digital consumer in this highly-competitive segment, dominated by global brands with extensive marketing budgets. What are the opportunities to extend beyond the DACH region? What strategies have worked, and what are the directions of travel? A brief visit to the international sites (eg https://lu.teufelaudio.com/) will show how many countries and languages are currently covered, and we’ll hear about the growth challenges and opportunities as they become a global brand.
The roundtable will be held in English, and is part of our research activity into European growth brands that are performing across channels on a global scale.
There will be no notes, no recording, no slides, no ‘deck’, no follow up. This is a case of be there or miss the moment!
The event is confidential and off the record, held under the Chatham House Rule.
We have space for about 8 people to join, and it’s ideally suited to hands-on experts who are working on personalisation and commercial effectiveness, who understand the systems in use or who are looking for better solutions, and would like to discuss, share and learn with peers. In particular we’ll look at the demands of connecting with a fickle yet knowledgeable consumer in a market that by definition is fast-paced.
